At Bloemfontein we help our children build upon their dreams; inspiring them to believe in themselves and to aim high. We do this by providing them with opportunities to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of how to keep healthy and safe, and also how to become independent, responsible members of society. Children are taught from the beginning of school to practice self-care and to take an active role in maintaining the wellbeing of those around them. Our curriculum is embedded within day-to-day teaching, whereby every learning opportunity is seized and children can face the challenges of life in a well-supported environment.
Our teaching enables children to face risks, make complex and sound decisions whilst also demonstrating that everyone faces difficult situations in life. By equipping the children with the skills needed to deal with these situations, they are able to lead a happy and successful life.
Opportunities throughout the year, such as celebrating Black History Month; Fire Safety Week; Inter Faith Week and Remembrance Day exposes children to a range of global issues and problems that will help children build up tolerance and understanding of how to be a responsible global citizen.
Teachers play an integral role in promoting positive self-worth and lead by example in showing our children kindness, integrity, generosity and honesty – the key building blocks needed for our children to develop the personal attributes that will help them build healthy, respectful relationships.
Bloemfontein school has strong foundations within the community and we help children see each and everybody’s value within our ever-changing world that we live in. Children learn to appreciate their uniqueness whilst understanding diversity through promoting strong and positive views of themselves. With a strong sense of
self-worth, we believe (and our children do too) that anything is possible.
